Rasta Taco® was born on a hot afternoon in Jamaica when Mario “Maji” Melendez, a former clothing designer, found himself scribbling down ideas on a napkin, poolside in a resort. Little did he know his vacation dreams of bringing local Jamaican jerk chicken to the United States would turn into opening a restaurant on the island and grow into a popular mobile Mexican-Jamaican-fusion taco cart catering business in California.
Today we bring Mario's famous “one love” concept to weddings, corporate events, parties, and anywhere happiness and tacos can be delivered! Rasta Taco® has since expanded into two venues: a Cantina in Joshua Tree and a small but mighty restaurant in Laguna Beach only steps from the Southern California surf.
